Registered and graded.
We are registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), the body that grades contractors by the type and size of work they may carry out on public projects. Certificates are available on request.

Civil Engineering Our main grade
Civil engineering covers works built mainly from steel, concrete, earth and rock: pipelines, roads, stormwater, structures and the earthworks beneath them. It is the class most of our work falls under.
We also hold Potentially Emerging (PE) status, which lets a client running a targeted development programme consider us one grade higher.
Additional classes, all registered at Grade 1
General Building
Building works such as brickwork, concrete frames, roofs and finishes, and the structures that go with them.
Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical plant and equipment, such as pumps, valves and pipework, installed in buildings and infrastructure.
Electrical Engineering, Building
Electrical installations that form part of buildings and structures, including wiring and cabling.
Water supply and drainage for buildings
Wet services: plumbing, water supply and drainage for buildings.
Asphalt works
Supplying and laying asphalt, for roads, parking areas and running tracks.
Structural steelwork
Fabrication and erection of structural steelwork, including scaffolding.
Waterproofing
Waterproofing of basements, roofs and walls using specialist systems.
Steel security fencing or precast concrete
Steel security fencing and precast concrete works, such as perimeter and sports ground fencing.
How to read a CIDB grading
Each grading is a number and two letters. The number (1 to 9) sets the largest contract value we may tender for. The letters are the class of work. So 5CE is Grade 5 in Civil Engineering, and 1SB is Grade 1 in Asphalt works.
Grade 1 is the entry grade, for contracts up to R500,000. Grade 5 covers contracts up to R10 million. Both figures include VAT and are the tender value limits published by the CIDB, who adjust them from time to time.
PE means Potentially Emerging Enterprise. Under the CIDB regulations, a client running a targeted development programme may accept a tender from a PE contractor one grade above its registered grade.
